Tom Balamaci is SVP of E-Commerce at First Media, a multi-platform digital publisher delivering content that inspires creativity in young women and moms. He is responsible for leading the growth of digital commerce businesses that engage First Media’s over 78 million followers with must-have products in the lifestyle, DIY, food, beauty and parenting categories.
Tom brings his experience in content-driven commerce to First Media. Previously he was General Manager of Zoe Media Group, the digital media division of Rachel Zoe Inc., delivering style, beauty and lifestyle content through Rachel Zoe’s inimitable lens. There, he oversaw rapid content and audience growth at The Zoe Report, the launch and successful expansion of Box of Style (a quarterly subscription filled with seasonal fashion, beauty and lifestyle items at an outstanding value) and the launch of the company’s consumer direct, ready-to-wear site RachelZoe.com. Prior to ZMG, Balamaci was co-founder and CEO of Pop-Up Pantry, a venture funded subscription e-commerce company delivering chef-curated gourmet meals nationwide.
Earlier in his career, Balamaci held digital media business development roles at MySpace, Sony Pictures and NBC Universal. He was a media, tech and telecom investment banker at Credit Suisse, and later an analyst at hedge fund Mellon HBV. He received an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a BA from Brown University.
Tom enjoys a challenging HIIT class, skiing, architecture, live music, spending time with his dog, Buckie, and entertaining. He lives in LA with his husband, Patrick.
